SALT LAKE CITY — September 2, 2026 — Moises, the creative suite for musicians, today announced that Armin van Buuren, one of the defining figures in global electronic music, and Laidback Luke, an internationally renowned DJ, producer, and artist mentor, have joined the company as the first members of its Artist Partnerships program. The move advances Moises’ artist-led approach to building tools for music practice, performance, and creation, and follows the appointment of Charlie Puth as the company’s Chief Music Officer.
The program brings two of electronic music’s most influential artists to Moises, pairing Armin’s experience in shaping the genre on a global scale with Luke’s decades of work developing producers and emerging talent. At a time when generative AI is raising questions about consent, ownership, and artist replacement, Moises is taking a different path by building a creative suite that helps musicians work faster and more freely while keeping them in control of the music they make.
Artists First
Both artists will help develop new producer- and DJ-focused features and contribute to public conversations about the future of music technology, including responsible AI. Their roles put working artists at the center of Moises’ product development, helping ensure the creative suite is shaped by the needs, workflows, and values of the musicians it is built to serve.
“Electronic music has always moved forward because artists were willing to experiment with new technology,” said Geraldo Ramos, founder and CEO of Moises. “The next generation of creative tools has to be built with musicians, not around them. Armin has helped define the evolution of electronic music, while Luke has spent decades advancing the art and mentoring the next generation. They understand the craft, the community, and the responsibility that comes with building tools musicians will actually use, and that is exactly the perspective we need as we expand what musicians can do with Moises.”
Originally built as a practice tool for musicians, Moises has grown into a creative companion for learning, performance, production, and experimentation. Rather than generating full songs at the push of a button, Moises focuses on giving musicians access to capabilities that were once limited to expensive studios and years of technical training, while keeping artistic judgment at the center of the creative process.
Moises chose dance music as the starting point for its Artist Partnerships program because electronic artists have long been among the first to transform new technology into new forms of musical expression. Over the next 12 months, the company plans to expand the program across multiple genres, bringing in artists who represent different creative workflows, communities, and musical traditions.
Two Architects of Modern Dance Music
For more than two decades, Armin van Buuren has shaped the sound, culture, and worldwide reach of electronic music. One of only three artists to be named the world’s No. 1 DJ by DJ Mag five times, he is a GRAMMY-nominated artist, co-founder of Armada Music, and host of A State of Trance, the long-running radio show reaching more than 40 million listeners. He has headlined the world’s biggest dance music stages, including Tomorrowland, Ultra, EDC, and Madison Square Garden.
“Technology has always been part of how electronic music evolves,” said Armin van Buuren. “What matters is whether the artist stays in control. Moises approaches AI with respect for the musician’s own sound and decision-making, and I’m excited to help build tools that make producers faster and more expressive without taking the creativity out of their hands.”
Laidback Luke is a pioneering DJ, producer, label founder, and educator whose influence helped shape the rise of modern EDM. He founded Mixmash Records and has spent more than two decades championing emerging talent, including Avicii and Afrojack, through his label, production forums, and masterclasses. His collaboration and remix credits span Daft Punk, Kanye West, Rihanna, Madonna, Jay-Z, Pharrell, Maroon 5, Tiësto, and many others.
“Every generation of producers gets new tools, but the best tools do not do the work for you,” said Laidback Luke. “They help you hear more, learn faster, and make stronger creative decisions. That is what I like about Moises. It starts with your own music and helps you understand it, shape it, and push it further. That is the kind of AI I want young producers to grow up with.”
Building With Artists at the Center
The new program builds on 12 months of partnerships that have expanded Moises across music creation, performance, education, and professional production:
- Charlie Puth joined as the company’s first Chief Music Officer
- Fender selected Moises as the first AI technology partner for its Studio Pro DAW
- Ableton chose Moises’ industry-leading stem-separation technology for Ableton Live
- Blackstar Amps partnered with Moises on the Beam Mini and Beam Solo, amps that separate any song into stems in real time through the Moises app
- The Whitney Houston Estate entrusted Moises with isolating Houston’s original vocals for a symphonic concert tour
- Cory Henry, the five-time GRAMMY winner, partnered with Moises on a global remix competition
That momentum reflects Moises’ broader approach to building a trusted creative suite for musicians. The company trains its AI models only on licensed and authorized content and works with partners that share its commitment to responsible development. Across its products, Moises is building technology that respects creators, rights holders, and the creative process.
“Trust will decide which music technology companies earn a lasting place in artists’ creative lives,” Ramos said. “Artists and rights holders should know where we stand. We train responsibly, we build with musicians in the room, and we measure progress by the quality of the work people create, not by how much human input technology can remove.”
