2025: A Year of Building for Creators

In this post, Moises CEO Geraldo Ramos recaps an eventful year that saw the company forge partnerships with world-class artists like Cory Henry and industry leaders, including Ableton, receive honors from Apple and Microsoft, surpass 70 million users worldwide, and launch AI tools that empower musicians instead of replacing them.

As we close another year, I want to reflect on what we built, why it matters, and the principles that continue to guide us.

From day one, Moises has focused on putting humans at the center of the creative process. In 2025, that conviction translated into record growth, landmark partnerships, and industry recognition that validated our long term approach.

Above all, this year validated our founding philosophy: AI should serve the creative process, not replace it. Instead of racing toward 'text-to-final-product' shortcuts, we focus on tools that are additive to the artist's workflow. We believe this human-centric approach will drive the kind of fundamental change that uplifts the entire community. This is why we are building technology that elevates the creator at every stage of their journey. We look beyond the moment of creation to support the entire artistic lifecycle, extending from the practicing tools that define our beginnings, to new frontiers in ideation, collaborating, and sharing.

What We Did Not Do

Perhaps it’s best to start out explaining what we purposefully chose not to do.

In an industry moving at breakneck speed, what you choose not to build matters more than what you decide to build.

While others rushed to release full-song generative models trained on indiscriminate data, we deliberately chose not to play that game. It was the only path that aligned with our mission. We remain laser-focused in our commitment to serve creators, not replace them. We have no interest in turning music creation into a mindless vending machine. While we acknowledge that these models can generate incredible outputs, we believe the artists will ultimately remain the key driver of musical evolution in the age of AI. Championing that human element is our passion and purpose.

What was the result of these decisions?

We took a different path, and the outcomes couldn't be more distinct. While other players in the AI music space spent 2025 fighting lawsuits, scrambling to restructure, and managing community backlash, we spent it building. We never had to explain to our users why features disappeared overnight.

Instead, we achieved sustainable growth, forged partnerships with world-class artists, earned recognition from leading media outlets, and raised $50+ million to accelerate our mission.

This is the result of building a foundation rooted in a clear mission and long-term value.

The Year in Numbers

In 2025, we reached 70 million users worldwide. That's over 15 million new creators who joined our community this year alone, representing the fastest growth period in Moises' history.

Collectively, our users processed 1.2 billion minutes of audio through our platform. To put that into perspective, that's over 2,280 years of music separated, remixed, practiced, and created. Every one of those minutes represents a musician getting better, a producer finding the perfect stem, or a student finally hearing the part they've been trying to learn.

Moises is now available in 33 languages and accessible in 190 countries. Music is universal, but the tools to create it haven't been, until now. Our top five markets in 2025 were the United States, Brazil, India, Mexico, and the UK, reflecting the global diversity of our community.

But the numbers that matter the most can’t really be measured. They are the hours our users didn't spend fighting their tools, the creative blocks they overcame, and the songs that exist now because Moises made the technical barriers disappear. That's what 70 million creators actually mean.

Recognition That Reflects Our Values

This year brought Moises recognition from some of the most respected names in technology and business:

  • Apple Design Awards Finalist for Innovation - Recognizing world-class product quality, creativity, and user experience; it’s one of the highest honors in the mobile app industry
  • #137 on Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 - Annual ranking of North America's fastest-growing technology companies
  • #715 on the Inc. 5000 - National ranking of America's fastest-growing private companies
  • Microsoft Store Awards: Best Music App - Honoring outstanding applications that elevate user experiences and inspire creativity across the Windows ecosystem

These honors matter because they validate our approach from every angle. Business growth. Technical innovation. Design excellence. User experience.

Receiving recognition from Apple and Microsoft is particularly meaningful. In a year where the market was flooded with flashy AI demos and viral gimmicks, they chose to honor a platform that prioritizes craft, usability, and respect for creators. Coming just one year after we were named the 2024 iPad App of the Year, this clearly demonstrates our sustained commitment to quality and utility over hype.

AI Studio: Our Biggest Leap Forward

In August, we launched Moises AI Studio, our browser-based audio editor powered by stem-by-stem generative models. The response was immediate and exceeded our expectations, driving a 30% surge in daily new users. To date, our community has generated millions of stems using this technology.

But the numbers only tell part of the story. What matters is the utility: guitar parts that lock to existing drums, bass lines that follow user-provided chord progressions, and synth textures that adapt to the mood and structure of a demo. AI Studio generates context-aware instrument parts designed to fit into existing creative workflows, not replace them. It acts as a creative partner that listens, adapts, and delivers musical building blocks you can edit, rearrange, and make your own.

We are already preparing our next leap forward, with larger and more capable models, seamless DAW integrations, and a completely new experience arriving in Q1.

Partnerships That Validated Our Approach

The partnerships we formed this year proved that major players in music and technology see value in what we are building.

  • Ableton Live 12.3 now powers its stem separation with Moises technology. For producers using one of the most respected DAWs in the world, our AI runs quietly in the background, isolating instruments with precision that previously required manual editing or inferior tools.
  • Cory Henry, the five-time GRAMMY winner, partnered with us to create remix and cover content through our Jam Session feature. When an artist of his caliber trusts our technology to reimagine his work, it sends a clear signal: this is not about replacing musicianship. It is about expanding what musicians can do.
  • The Whitney Houston Estate used Moises to isolate her vocals for a symphonic concert tour, preserving one of music's most iconic voices while creating new orchestral arrangements. That level of trust—from an estate protecting a legendary artist's legacy—validates our commitment to quality and respect for the original work.
  • NPR brought us on as a Tiny Desk supporter, aligning Moises with an organization synonymous with integrity and artist advocacy. This partnership reflects our values: we want to shape the conversation about AI's role in creative fields.

Taken together, these collaborations reinforce what we believe the future should look like. Responsible AI, built in partnership with artists and institutions that care deeply about craft, culture, and legacy.

Looking Ahead

As we enter 2026, our focus remains unchanged: empowering musicians with AI tools that respect their creativity and amplify their potential.

We will continue improving our core technologies stem separation, generation, and the full suite of features that make the musical journey more accessible. We will explore new partnerships that align with our values. We will refine AI Studio based on feedback from the creators using it every day.

Most importantly, we will stay guided by principles. Technology is a means to an end. The end is always the same: helping musicians make better music, learn faster, and create without limits.

If you are a musician, producer, educator, or anyone exploring what AI can do for music, we invite you to join us. Our tools are built for you. Our roadmap is shaped by your feedback. Our success is measured by what you create.

Thank you to the 70 million creators who trust us with your music! Here is to another year of building tools that deserve that trust.
